The stopmotion animated film "Duifies" (English title: Once Upon an Egg), directed by Nina Gantz and written by Robert Alberdingk Thijm, has received a grant of €1,800,000. The film, produced by Keplerfilm, tells the story of city pigeons Molly and Mick, whose nest at an Amsterdam chip stand is cleared, resulting in the loss of their egg. Gantz, a previous BAFTA winner and OSCAR nominee, describes it as a family-friendly, multi-layered stop-motion film made from Amsterdam's waste.
