Thijme Grol has been obsessed with animation since he was an early teenager. In 2018 he graduated the Netherlands Film Academy and in 2022 he graduated the MA Producing course at the National Film and Television School. His graduation animation film Spring Roll Dream was selected for Cannes Film Festival Cinef 2022 and won the Lights on Women award. The film is also shortlisted for the LA student BAFTAs.

He is developing his own long form animated projects as well as working as a freelancer in the UK and Dutch animation industry. Mainly he works for London based Blinkink Animation focussing on animated advertisement. Furthermore he recently finished work on the features Sister Midnight and Learning to Breath Underwater.

The nickname of Thijme is "Timeman". In English the name Thijme can be pronounced as Timeman. Furthermore this nickname expresses his precision, eye for detail and strict focus on deadlines. Some say he has never missed a deadline in his life!
